Resilience Documentary

The Division of Community Health aims to build public awareness regarding the health implications of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), toxic stress and trauma with showings of the film “Resilience: The Biology of Stress & the Science of Hope.” Resilience uses emerging science to shine a light on the menacing and lifelong impact of ACEs which includes increased chances of disease, substance abuse, and mental health challenges. To achieve better outcomes regarding health and wellbeing, a growing movement now exists in Durham and other areas of the US to combat the damaging effects of ACEs by connecting communities with access to tools, resources, and information on best practices they can use to heal.
