For more than two years, Fred Johnson, MBA, assistant professor of the practice, Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, has led an effort to raise awareness of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) across Durham, N.C., and at Duke University. Utilizing the documentary film "Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope," he is working to address issues of childhood abuse and neglect and raise awareness in the local community and with Duke's health care workforce.

He and the Division of Community Health have hosted screenings of the film across campus and in the community. Upcoming showings are Feb. 13 and March 12, 5:30 pm-7 p.m. at the Duke Diet and Fitness Center.
