Work Ability/Disability

At certain times, your workplace faces important questions:

  • Should this person enter this job?
  • Does a change in health prevent continuing in a certain job?
  • Would modifying the job (or the treatment) allow the job to "fit" again?
  • What are the risks of this person doing this job?

The question may arise in various ways: through the hiring process, a disability claim, a work performance problem, a Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) application, a work injury, troublesome workplace behavior, etc. We know the language of all these situations. Whatever the specifics, the key will be what is core to our specialty — the junction between work and health.
