The Division of Community Health is hosting three conferences in November across the state to highlight a collaborative community approach to diabetes prevention for pregnant and postpartum women. The conferences, supported through a grant from the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, are designed to:
- convene North Carolina agencies, providers and health professionals to advance knowledge of preconception, pregnancy and postpartum maternal health throughout the life course;
- present lessons learned in a maternal health collaborative initiative to reduce Type II Diabetes in four Tier I N.C. counties; and
- facilitate a forum to discuss and capture innovative methods, promising practices, and strategies to improve maternal health in N.C.
Conferences are free for attendees, however those who plan to attend must register. The conferences are geared toward health professionals who work with pregnant and postpartum women. Registration for each conference will end one week prior to the event date.
