Sebnem Eren Cevik, MD, MPH, PhD, joined the Duke Toxicology Program in July 2025. Sebnem comes to Duke from the U.S. FDA, Human Foods Program, Office of Dietary Supplements Program, where she served as an ORISE Fellow and review toxicologist. Her responsibilities included conducting risk assessments of finished dietary supplements and their ingredients, as well as evaluating the compliance of these products with regulatory guidelines. Prior to joining the U.S. FDA, Sebnem earned her PhD investigating epigenetic changes in Alzheimer’s disease, with a focus on imprint control regions that may play a role in disease development.

Dr. Eren Cevik received her MD from Hacettepe University School of Medicine and her residency in Emergency Medicine from Uludag University School of Medicine in Turkey. Later, she earned an MPH degree in Environmental Health Sciences from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a PhD in Toxicology from North Carolina State University.
