Effective June 1, Will Bynum, M.D., assistant professor of community and family medicine, and Cerrone Cohen, M.D., medical instructor of community and family medicine, will be co-associate program directors of the Duke Family Medicine Residency Program.
Nichole Capitanio Named Director of Personal Assistance Service
Nichole Capitanio assumes the role of director for Duke’s Personal Assistance Service (PAS) on April 16.
Duke-Johnson & Johnson Nurse Leadership Program Expands, Announces Fellows for 2018-19 Program Year
The Duke-Johnson & Johnson Nurse Leadership Program announces the selection of 45 advanced practice nurses (APNs) as fellows for the 2018-2019 program year. The one-year program provides unique leadership development opportunities for APNs through a combination of on-campus and distance-based platforms. With the continued and generous support of Johnson & Johnson, this successful program has expanded this year to welcome a class that is 50 percent larger than in years past, with the selected nurse fellows hailing from 21 states and representing many diverse practice settings. On April 24, they will attend a four-day leadership retreat on the Duke University campus.
Department of Community and Family Medicine Focused on Rebuilding Research
Efforts to bolster research activity in the Department of Community and Family Medicine have been ramping up over the past few months, with the ongoing recruitment of several researchers to join those currently on faculty, and the integration and consolidation of resources across the department.

The Duke Family Medicine Residency Program announced today the six medical students who will be joining the program in July as interns, and the addition of one second-year resident.
