April Stouder Named Associate Program Director of Duke Physician Assistant Program

Effective June 1, 2018, April Stouder, MHS, PA-C, associate professor of community and family medicine, will become associate program director of the Duke Physician Assistant Program. Stouder currently serves at the director of clinical education, a role she's held since 2012.

A native of Indiana, Stouder graduated from Manchester College, earning a B.S. in interdisciplinary human biology before entering the Duke PA program. She graduated from the PA program in 2000 and was employed in hematology/oncology and family practice, including time with the Duke Cancer Network, before joining the Duke PA program as clinical coordinator in 2009.

Stouder presents on a variety of oncology and education topics in state and national forums, has been a board member of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants, and a member and interim chair of the Physician Assistant Education Association’s Conference Council, and is a distinguished fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Stouder currently is a fellow of the chancellor's Duke Clinical Leadership Program.
