To improve the health of my patients but also the greater community in which I live not only as a practitioner of medicine but also an advocate for Heath equity.

What attracted you to the Duke Family Medicine Residency Program?

I was attracted to Duke because of the diversity in residents and the faculty. Specifically, how diverse everyone's backgrounds and interests are. I believe learning from individuals with diverse experiences will help me to become a more well-rounded physician. Additionally, the commitment to health equity for all people aligned with my passions within in medicine and my career goals.

In your opinion, what makes Duke Family Medicine special?

During my first visit I immediately felt a sense of inclusiveness that made Duke stand out from other institutions.

What strengths or skills do you have that could be of benefit to the community?

My experience working for an educational and health care non profit before medical school has  allowed me to have a better insight into the challenges my patients face both in and outside of the clinic and a deeper understanding of social determinants of health, which has prepared me to be a better physician advocate.

What are you passionate about?

Addressing and educating others about social determinants of health and their impact on patient care. Understanding people’s complete stories.  Learning new languages and cultures. Ice cream.

Stamford, CT
