P. Hunter Spotts, MD is Assistant Professor of Family Medicine & Community Health, and Medical Director of Duke Student Health, where he manages all clinical operations.  He earned his Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) from Furman University and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina.  His primary academic interests lie in the care of neurodiverse emerging adults, and population health care in the university setting.  His scholarly writing has appeared in peer-reviewed journals, the CDC’s MMWR, and a textbook of college health.  Prior to coming to Duke, Dr. Spotts practiced community primary and urgent care for many years in Baltimore County, MD.
