What are your career goals?

My career aspirations include practicing medicine and using my research skills to help shape public policy, specifically addressing the social determinants of health.

What attracted you to the Duke Family Medicine Residency Program?

The people I met at Duke had similar professional interests.  They were inviting, fun and committed to serving the community within and beyond the clinical setting.

In your opinion, what makes Duke Family Medicine special?

The people at Duke Family Medicine demonstrate the desire to learn, grow and be active participants in the community.  While many programs are striving to reach equity within their departments, Duke Family Medicine program already reflects this mission.

What strengths do you have that could be of benefit to the community?

I am a lifelong learner, always striving to become a better person, friend, mother, doctor and scientist.  In partnership with members of the community, I hope to help improve community health and well-being.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about transforming our society to improve the health, safety and well-being of those who are most marginalized and stigmatized by our society. 

What is your hometown?

Denver, CO

What are your hobbies outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, fishing, cricuting and reading.

What is something interesting that not many people know about you?

Most people do not know that I am shy and quiet.

So far, what has surprised you most about Duke?

I am surprised by the beauty of the surrounding area and campus.
