What are your career goals?

To provide excellent patient care and use research in consumer psychology to empower people, families, and communities to live healthier lives.

What drew you to the Duke Family Medicine Residency Program?

I love that the Duke Family Medicine Residency emphasizes community health; it encourages us to get outside the walls of the clinic and engage with patients within their communities.

What strengths or skills do you have that could be of benefit to the community?

I have received specific training in motivational interviewing, which is a technique that helps people identify goals that are important to them and empowers them to reach those goals. I am excited to use this training to help patients and communities.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about making a positive difference in people’s lives, both in my professional and personal lives.

What are your hobbies?

I enjoy playing tennis, making pottery, singing, and spending time with my significant other and our pet bunnies.

What did you want to be as a child?

As a child, I wanted to be an astronaut – I even went to space camp!

What has been the best part of living in the Durham/Triangle community?

I love the people in the Triangle and how many different ways there are to get involved with the community.

Name something interesting few people know about you.

I started out college studying classical vocal performance. Although I ended up decided not to pursue music as a career, it still plays an important role in my life.

Name a memorable Duke experience.

I was a medical student when we won the NCAA basketball championship in 2015. I watched the game on the Jumbotron in Cameron Stadium and the energy was palpable!
