She/Her/Hers

What is your hometown?

Queens, NY

What are your career goals?

My career goals are to practice full spectrum family medicine, promote workforce diversity in healthcare, advocate for health equity and alleviate health disparities in underserved communities.

What attracted you to the Duke Family Medicine Residency Program?

I was attracted to Duke because despite learning about the Duke Family Medicine Residency Program in a totally virtual setting, I could really sense the strong commitment everyone has to health equity and population health. Moreover, I wanted to train in a place where I would truly have a full spectrum family medicine experience with a community focus while also being part of a larger academic institution, so Duke was a perfect fit for my interests!

In your opinion, what makes Duke Family Medicine special?

Duke Family Medicine is special because it is a small program with a lot of heart and a deep sense of commitment to population health and health equity in the Durham community.

What strengths or skills do you have that could be of benefit to the community?

I have a lot of experience with advocacy, pipeline mentoring and organizing from SNMA, White Coats for Black Lives and free clinics, which may be helpful during future community outreach events. I have also been known to be a social butterfly and tend to get along with a lot of different people very easily.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about alleviating racial health disparities, reproductive justice, public health policy and healthcare equity. I am also very committed to mentorship and pipeline programs for underrepresented minorities in medicine.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

Baking, traveling, visiting museums, watching movies, and spending time with my family and friends.

What is something interesting that not many people know about you?

I once took an impromptu trip to visit a friend in Paris during a long weekend in Medical School. It was very expensive, and a lot of my limited vacation time was spent in transit, but I experienced my lifelong dream of seeing the Palace of Versailles, so I have no regrets!

So far, what has surprised you most about Duke?

I have been surprised to meet so many folks who are also new to the Duke/Durham area, specifically a lot of fellow New Yorkers!
