What are your career goals?

I aspire to be a full spectrum family physician who understands my patients, their communities, and the social circumstances that impact their lives. I find it especially important to care for populations that have been marginalized historically.

What attracted you to the Duke Family Medicine Residency Program?

I attended medical school at Duke and have spent several years in the triangle. I've gotten to know the people and have found the faculty, residents, and staff at DFM to be committed to health equity and the larger community of Durham.

In your opinion, What makes Duke Family Medicine special?

The people at Duke Family Medicine do an incredible job at going above and beyond to care for patients. I have seen some of the best examples of patient advocacy among my colleagues at DFM.

What strengths or skills do you have that could be of benefit to the community?

My commitment to the community here in Durham and across the state of North Carolina is probably my biggest strength. I find that I can relate to the lived experiences of many of my patients because of my ties to the state. Additionally, I feel privileged to be in a position where I can offer primary care services to this community.

What are you passionate about?

I am most passionate about providing high-quality, evidence-based, and compassionate healthcare for each of my patients.

What is your hometown?

Concord, North Carolina

What are your hobbies outside of work?

I enjoy exploring parks and trails around the triangle.

What is something interesting that not many people know about you?

I lobbied on the Hill for comprehensive sex education when I was in high school.

So far, what has surprised you most about Duke?

Duke's impact on healthcare, research, and innovation around the globe never ceases to amaze me.
