She/Her
What are your career goals?

To provide excellent, well-rounded primary care. I want to be a great clinician, a good listener, and someone that supports my patients along their health care journey. After two years of practicing as an OB/GYN, I realized my calling was primary care for the entire family, not just women. I am passionate about women's health and reproductive health care, but now know that my passions extend to preventative health and primary care for all.

What attracted you to the Duke Family Medicine Residency Program?

The diversity of the residents and faculty, the depth of the educational opportunities, and the chance to serve a tremendous community.

In your opinion, what makes Duke Family Medicine special?

The integral place teamwork and social engagement play in the Duke value system.

What strengths or skills do you have that could be of benefit to the community?

As a physician and a parent, I understand how hard it can be to get through everything on the to-do list. Especially items like exercise and wellness visits. I hope to bring these and other life experiences to patient care, and the Duke community.

What are you passionate about?

Community medicine; narrative medicine; elder care; women's health. I care a lot about how as a health care system, we can better support new parents and infants not just medically but socially and politically.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

Spending time with my family and young child, running, cooking (especially new recipes; I love to try new flavors and spices).

If you have lived in the area for awhile, what is the best part of living in the Durham/Triangle area?

I have never lived in Durham and can't wait to explore it!

What is something interesting that not many people know about you?

I spent time in Zimbabwe during college and learned Shona, one of the many local languages.

So far, what has surprised you most about Duke?

The warm welcome and commitment to community engagement.
