Debra Whiteheart, MHS, PA-C, has been named assistant medical director of Duke Family Medicine Center, effective immediately. Whiteheart is a 2008 graduate of the Duke Physician Assistant Program, and has worked with the clinic since 2009.
In addition to providing routine acute and chronic care to the patient population, she teaches learners in the classroom setting for the PA program, at the medical school in the Clinical Skills Foundation course, and clinically by supervising medical, PA, and pharmacy students. Additionally, she co-manages the clinic's Anticoagulation and Dermatology Procedure Clinics at Pickens.
