Meet Libby Carver, DNP, FNP-BC

Libby Carver, DNP, FNP-BC, joined the Department of Family Medicine & Community Health this summer as a clinician working in the Duke Employee Occupational Health & Wellness clinic. She earned her family nurse practitioner certificate from Duke University in 2018, her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Gardner-Webb University in 2015, a Master in Clinical Research Management from Duke University in 2002, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1998.

Faculty Profile: Woodhall Stopford, M.D., MSPH

Woodhall “Sandy” Stopford, MD, MSPH, assistant professor, serves as senior consultant emeritus to the Duke Toxicology Program, and was director of the program from 1989 to 2013. He graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1969 and completed his master of science in public health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1980.

Meet Toxicologist Chester Rodriguez, Ph.D., DABT, ERT

Chester Rodriguez, Ph.D., DABT, ERT, joined the Duke Toxicology Program in November. He earned his MS in chemistry from San Francisco State University in 1999, and his doctorate in pharmacology and toxicology from UCLA in 2005.

Meet Toxicologist David Walker, Ph.D.

David Walker, Ph.D., joined the Duke Toxicology Program in October. He earned his doctorate in toxicology and nutrition from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1993.

Gary Greenberg, Former Division Chief of Occupational Medicine, Dies

Gary Greenberg, M.D., MPH, HS’84, former faculty member with the Department of Community and Family Medicine, passed away last month after a battle with cancer. Greenberg joined Duke as an occupational medicine resident in the early 1980s and remained on faculty, serving in the divisions of occupational and environmental medicine, family medicine, and primary care internal medicine until 2005.

Nichole Capitanio Named Director of Personal Assistance Service

Nichole Capitanio assumes the role of director for Duke’s Personal Assistance Service (PAS) on April 16. She previously served as the director for staff and employee assistance programs at the Cleveland Clinic, where she had been since 2005. During that time she served in various leadership positions, worked closely with physicians, and managed a team of 13 professionals to provide psychological health and wellness programs for physicians, scientists, nurses and other staff members at the Cleveland Clinic.
